Open-Access Policy and Archiving

Open Access Policy

The journal Ekonomichna ta Sotsialna Geografiya adheres to an open access policy in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative and definition of the open access by the DOAJ.

Open access means that all articles published in Ekonomichna ta Sotsialna Geografiya are freely available for reading, copying, downloading, and distribution – whether through printing, sharing on social media, or other means – immediately upon publication. The editorial office adheres to a diamond open access policy, under which all articles and issues of the journal are freely available to both authors and readers. Users who utilise materials published in the journal for any other lawful purpose do not need to request prior permission from the publisher or the author. Readers are permitted to share and adapt the content, provided that proper attribution is given to the journal and the article, in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

Example of attribution:

Archiving Policy

The archive of published articles is available on the journal’s website in the Archives section. Backup copies of published articles are stored in the Institutional Repository of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv: https://ir.library.knu.ua/

The publisher permits and encourages authors to archive (deposit) the published version of the article published on the journal’s website in an institutional or subject repository (e.g., Diadorim, Dulcinea, Zenodo, OSF, Figshare, ResearchGate, etc), where it will be available in open access, thereby maximizing its visibility and impact. Additional opportunities for promoting published materials can be found in the Dissemination and Promotion section. At the same time, this does not apply to the submitted or accepted versions of the article prior to its publishing on the journal's website.

Open Data Policy

The Editorial Board supports the principles of open science and encourages authors to provide open access to the research data underlying the published results. Authors must ensure the possibility of verifying their findings by providing access to primary data, code, data processing methodologies, and supplementary materials, unless this contradicts legal or ethical requirements.

The Editorial Board encourages authors to deposit research data in reliable open repositories (institutional or international) with the assignment of a persistent identifier (DOI or other PID).

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and lawful dissemination of the data they provide.
