Abstract

The article deals with modern approaches to the study of natural disasters and technological accidents and basic methods of their analysis. Traditional approaches that involve the use of statistical methods for disasters assessment and risk of their occurrence are revealed. The category of vulnerability of the territory and its elements are characterized.
